OIL& GAS
HKS have been supplying electrical enclosures and medium/high voltage enclosures to the Oil & Gas.This knowledge has allowed us to refine our products over the years to ensure we meet and exceed the exacting standards required for this demanding industry.
The majority of HKS electrical connection are fully ATEX and IECEx approved for use in both onshore and offshore hazardous environments.
To further confirm their suitability for use in offshore environments, our GRP and stainless steel enclosures are DTS-01 deluges tested - this test requires the enclosure to provide continuous operation during the use of fire deluge systems . . . that's a lot of water!
Not only are we involved in the Offshore sector, but HKS also supplies to onshore based refineries, LNG receiving terminals and storage facilities.
RENEWABLE ENERGY
From exposed offshore windfarms to efficient biomass power generation projects.
We work closely with all partners in the supply chain including designers, EPC contractors and electrical wholesalers to ensure equipment matches project specifications and timescales.
These exposed marine locations demand equipment that provides both high levels of ingress protection and resistance to salinity. For such environments, we use only the high specification 316 (1.404) stainless steel or highly UV resistant GRP.
RAIL INDUSTRY
More and more technologies are connecting transportation to better shape our way of travel. The track is getting longer, the train is running faster, and inspections are becoming more automated.
Whether you own or operate rail infrastructure, locomotives and vehicles, or information systems, we can gain a deep understanding of industry trends and help you transform your business. The railway industry is becoming smarter, more environmentally friendly, and faster.
With the expansion of train length and network scale, railways are adopting intelligent technology and digitization to expand infrastructure scale. As an alternative to fuel, some operators are even testing battery hybrid vehicles. For this, we are always ready to help you continue to keep the train moving at a fast pace.
NUCLEAR
The nuclear industry typically required products with proven operation in the field to ensure they will have the longevity needed. This is characterised by products that have a resistance to corrosion and a high level of ingress protection.
The highly regulated nature of the industry requires suppliers to meet stringent quality assurance standards and prove their business systems are robust. HKS’s experience in the manufacture of hazardous area equipment and the associated QAN accreditation is testament to this approach. The company is also ISO 9001:2015
BIOPHARMACEUTICALS
Gas, dust, and the strictest hygiene regulations pose special requirements for explosion-proof in the pharmaceutical industry. Clean room technology and its special requirements - such as surface cleaning. Solvents, vapors, and dust are typical causes of potentially explosive environments in drug production.
Our company has close cooperation with the industry, providing consulting for complete solutions and individual large-scale projects, as well as professional trends such as smart factories. Smart factories provide enormous optimization potential for pharmaceutical manufacturers, or provide consulting for individual topics such as lighting in the Ex area.
SHIP AVIATION
The complexity of operation and the particularity of electrical system operation
The ship is often in the condition of wind and waves, rainstorm and changeable ocean, which is easy to cause turbulence, vibration and impact; The environmental temperature changes greatly, especially during the navigation of ships in unlimited navigation areas, where temperature changes are particularly prominent: ships transport a wide variety of goods with different characteristics.
The operation of electrical equipment.
The environment is high in temperature and humidity, and the air contains corrosive and polluting gases such as salt mist and oil mist; The capacity of ship power stations is relatively small, the working conditions are complex, and the load changes are significant, which affects the changes in voltage and frequency. Therefore, the safety requirements for ship electrical equipment are more stringent.
